Turf & Ornamental Key Account Manager

Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Key Account Manager in the Turf and Ornamental Business (T&O). This is a virtual office position.  However, the preferred location is the Midwest, Southwest, or Southeast with easy access to a major metropolitan airport.

The Turf and Ornamental Key Account Manager is responsible for the overall management of direct purchasing distributors and formulator partners.  This role is focused on selling the T&O brands of packaged products and technical active ingredients. You will be a member of an elite and highly effective Key Account Management team that is supported with innovative marketing strategies and operational and logistics specialists.

The role is accountable for select distributors and formulators who purchase directly from Corteva. You will develop and execute strategic sales and business plans, present and implement distributor programs, and provide technical and regulatory support to channel partners.  You will be expected to discern market intelligence and communicate regularly to the account management team and to internal stakeholders. You will be expected to plan strategically to grow the sales of distributor and formulator partners.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create demand for Corteva Agriscience T&O packaged and formulated brands.Collaborate with customer leaders and Corteva stakeholders to develop short and long-term business plans to innovate, grow market share, forecast stocking needs.Manage and foster strong relationships with customer and industry leaders.Provide timely communication to customers ensuring complete understanding of pricing, terms, marketing programs, program deadlines, regulatory changes, etc.Ensure customer compliance with supplemental distribution agreements, product stewardship and regulatory requirements by working with internal regulatory, legal and marketing roles.Manage and negotiate business agreements with customers.Provide timely and accurate reconciliation of marketing/stewardship programs.Provide technical assistance and stewardship of Corteva brands to distributor and formulator partners.Aid customers with the development of new end-use applications for packaged and technical products in the professional and the retail market segments.Discern and quantify new market opportunities and collaborate with internal development teams to capitalize on opportunities.Develop relationships with trade and industry organizations to promote the sale and use of Corteva Agriscience products.Responsibly use territory resources to design and manage effective promotional activities and responsibly plan travel, entertainment and general business expenses to optimize effectiveness.Develop Individual Performance Development Plan consistent with Corteva Agriscience Core Values to enhance professional development and meet business targets.Serve on internal leadership teams to contribute to the future strategies and tactics of the entire T&O business.Maintain company equipment, assets, vehicle, and records in an ethical and safe manner.Work safely and abide by Corteva Agriscience Core Values, driving, and confidential information policies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business management, Agronomy, Agriculture, or other science related fields.Minimum of 10 years of commercial sales and/or marketing experiences in the turf and ornamental business or related distribution and specialty industries.Valid driver’s license is required.Expect to travel 50-75% of the time within the entire U.S. and be responsive to seasonal and business cycles.Minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made.
