Turnaround Project Controls Team Lead

About the position:

The Project Controls Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of project controls professionals including turnaround schedulers and cost estimators in supporting turnaround-related projects and activities for Chevrons Refineries and LNG Assets. The team develops, implements, and manages the project control plan, tracks progress and forecasts of project costs against approved budget commitments, and develops integrated project performance reports. This position reports to the Maintenance & Turnaround Planning Manager at the Chevron ENGINE Center.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team responsible for developing detailed schedules and cost estimates for turnarounds and major projects across Chevron operating assets

Ensure team and individual deliverables�are understood, performance expectations are clear, and progress is measured and reported

Review integrated project progress, performance, and milestone reports and provide guidance when necessary

Support, coach, and mentor team in developing realistic turnaround schedules in Primavera or other scheduling tools

Maintain alignment with turnaround milestones and ensure team members are maintaining effective communication with their respective turnaround core teams

Provide work direction and professional development for direct reports

Participate in hiring and organizational design�as required, support succession planning discussions with leadership teams for the ENGINE turnaround organization

Enhance ENGINE knowledge�of industry standards and best practices for turnaround scheduling and execution

Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Chevron assets to gain a holistic understanding of Chevron turnaround processes and implement changes to standardize across the organization

Required Qualifications:

10-15 years of relevant turnaround execution experience providing technical and turnaround scheduling support to plant turnaround teams

5-10 years of experience in a complex oil and gas operating environment is preferred

5-10 years of maintenance and reliability experience is preferred

Bachelor�s degree in mechanical or civil engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) from a deemed/recognized (AICTE) university will be highly regarded
