The Asset Integrity Engineer is responsible for the development and execution of projects and programs in support of improved fixed infrastructure integrity, equipment reliability, compliance, process safety, and plant performance. The role is responsible for the development of maintenance strategies and execution plans to ensure the structural and mechanical integrity of fixed assets over the life of the mine. The role owns the technical specifications of the equipment and plant infrastructure and provides in-house technical expertise to Maintenance, Operations, and Technical Services. The Asset Integrity Engineer coordinates the Management of Change process in relation to plant infrastructure and fixed equipment, ensuring that stakeholders are appropriately engaged and that risks are effectively managed.

Responsibilities:
Drive safety mindset through participation in site programs including field level risk assessments (FLRA), Team Risk Assessments, Field Interactions and Fatal Risk Audits. Oversee the identification, specification, monitoring and verification of Critical Controls pertaining to Process Safety (Process Safety Management). Investigate infrastructure and equipment failures and develop solutions in the context of improved operations and maintenance practices or infrastructure and equipment upgrades. Administer and oversee the MOC process, ensuring that contemplated changes are effectively managed and implemented. Analyze the condition of the structural components of buildings and other structures, through verification of plans, field visits and inspection, along with the use of software and non-destructive techniques for calculation and modeling of load, pressure, and stress on areas of concern. Apply the analysis with the objective of identifying remaining life, potential or existing failure modes, damage due to tension, stress, corrosion or other potential risks, and to define and plan the preventive work to avoid failures. Define maintenance strategies for structures and concrete (civil-structural area) and establish contact with other areas of the organization, with the objective of determining the aspects to be reviewed in the structures (risk assessments and deterioration indicators) and guarantee compliance with the objectives, ensuring that the designs comply with national standards for safety, functionality and maintainability. Conduct a review of the structures and the maintenance strategies for the structures and concrete (civil area) considering the mechanical and physical integrity of these assets, together with the areas of impact, with the objective of ensuring that the designs comply with local standards in terms of safety, functionality and maintainability, while determining deterioration indicators, aspects to be reviewed and the identification of conditions that affect structural integrity. Execute the corrosion mapping and structural risk assessment processes in the areas of health, safety and production; through coupon analysis, online monitoring for asset health and modeling the map in structural software, to identify critical areas, propose designs or mitigation actions for the identified risks and avoid non-compliance with strategic maintenance objectives. Contribute on a quarterly basis with proposals for structural improvement initiatives in the preparation of the annual budget and projects, with the aim of incorporating into the budget items corresponding to structure and concrete, improvement/projects and others. Execute all aspects of small and medium sized projects, including planning, justification, design, approval, construction, commissioning and turnover, applying both company practices and industry codes and standards, with emphasis on solutions to improve safety, compliance and reliability for infrastructure and fixed equipment like storage tank, lifting devices and cranes. Manage project schedule, cost, quality control and document control, and develop appropriate reporting of progress to plant leadership. Perform the function of Owners Representative on larger projects managed by the Capital Projects team. Oversee document management and ensure that document control is maintained for all engineering documents. Research and evaluate new technologies and applications; recommend improvement opportunities based on the evaluation and gain buy-in or consensus from stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Civil or Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineer or similar equivalent, is required. Professional Engineering licensure, or ability to successfully obtain an engineering license with the Nevada Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (NVBPELS), is required. Minimum of 5 years of experience. Project Management knowledge and experience is required. Knowledge of mineral processing operations and construction is preferred. Knowledge of asset integrity and NACE Corrosion Engineering is preferred. Familiarity with Process Safety Management programs and practices preferred. Experience with managing contractors and contract management is preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD is preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills are required. Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment is required. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this job is required.What We Can Offer You
