Turquoise Ridge - Capital Forecasting/Reporting Lead

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Capital Forecasting/Reporting Lead with our Capital Projects department. The successful candidate is responsible for leading the Nevada Gold Mine’s capital forecasting process with focus on maintaining the capital project register, evaluating new projects for inclusion on the capital register, and scheduling life-of-mine (LOM) capital expenditure. Work collaboratively with finance, capital allocation, project management, and operations teams to achieve forecasting objectives. In addition to the forecasting responsibilities, this role will lead the reporting support for the NGM Project Portfolio. They will analyze and report project information for management and stakeholder review.

Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively with finance team to manage a capital project register and ensure complete and accurate forecasting for all planned LOM capital expenditure Work collaboratively with capital allocation team to manage approval process for new project inclusion on the LOM capital register Evaluate project execution plans, schedules, and budgets; work collaboratively with project managers and operating groups to validate capital plans and ensure forecasting is accurate and achievable Track monthly capital spend variances vs plan and prepare monthly report to summarize forecasting accuracy, explanations for significant variances, forecasting adjustments, and impacts to rolling LOM plan Lead monthly forecasting reviews with operating groups to review project performance and re-forecast projects for rolling LOM plan, determine project prioritization and maintain capital deferral plans if required to meet company capital objectives Provide operating groups with capital reporting information monthly, including major forecasting variances, trend analysis, significant plan changes, and risks to achieving forecast Proactively assist project managers to analyze project schedules and forecasts, identify forecasted spend at risk, and implement project recovery plans to deliver yearly capital per plan Provide budgeting, scheduling, and forecasting expertise to support project planning and execution Support project technical reviews as part of AFE approval process Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand reporting requirements and translate them into efficient automated solutions

 

Create and customize templates for project reports, ensuring consistency and adherence to organizational standards. Assist in the Procore project management software to develop automated processes for template generation to streamline reporting workflows. Maintain interface with company business systems (SAP, and Project Management systems) Develop training around automated reporting templates to project managers and project engineers. Conduct regular audits of automated reporting systems to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability. Travel to mine sites as needed to interact with site leadership, operating groups, and project managers      

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, accounting, finance, or a related field required  3 or more years of project planning, scheduling, business planning, or forecasting experience required Effective communication skills, including communicating technical details to all levels of the organization required Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills required Ability to work collaboratively with teams across sites and through influence required Managing multiple concurrent tasks and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders required Demonstrated computer literacy and practical application of MS Office products required Knowledge of time management, leadership, organizational, and decision-making concepts required Knowledge of general mining operations and practices preferred Understanding of financial modeling and impact of projects on overall business preferred Knowledge of accounting practices and capital allocation processes preferred Demonstrated proficiency in project scheduling software preferred Project management and cost estimation experience preferred Knowledge of applicable regulatory codes, policies, standards, and best practices preferred
