Responsibilities
Learn It Systems is looking for a tutor. We currently have an opening in New York City for the 24/25 school year. This is a great opportunity to join a growing, interdisciplinary team of professionals focused on creating exceptional learning experiences for children in need.
In this position, you would be a part of an educational team consisting of a fellow educators, Program Aide, and Area Manager. This team works with school districts to deliver the highest-quality education services in reading, mathematics and/or writing to students in a small group/ one on one learning environment. As a tutor you will be assisting the classroom teacher with working with students that need additional support in the classroom. As a Learn It System tutor, you'll need to have experience teaching or tutoring. The programs will be held in-school, tutoring reading and math for grade levels ranging from K to 8th.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 2:30-4:30pm QualificationsAssociates degree Teaching assistant or experience working with studentsFingerprinting by Department of Education requiredCompletion of SAVE School and Child Abuse Workshop are required; Prior Completion a Plus and if not then can be providedBilingual preferredMust be able to lift 30 poundsWork location is in a school building where employee will need to be able to go up and down stairsFrequent standing and ability to raise arms above the headHand dexterity for typing and entering data into a computer
