Tutors are responsible for encouraging students to develop a systemic approach to studying that will serve them in many courses as well as integrate effective study and learning strategies to maximize the student's potential for academic progress. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in math (or closely related field) from a national or regionally accredited college or university with an overall GPA of 3.0 in mathematics OR current technical college student with an overall GPA of 3.0 in math or related subject and demonstrated experience.  Demonstrated ability and experience in mathematics  Excellent communication skills  Flexibility with working conditions and schedules  Ability and willingness to work with students from diverse cultural backgrounds, age levels and levels of academic preparation Must also be open to training and skills development.
