Entertainment Decision Science opportunities include:
Broadcast Entertainment, Cable Entertainment & Sports Content Analytics: The internship will offer in-depth training on TV ratings and audience research, including involvement in various cross-platform projects, and ownership over various weekly and daily reporting. Work on ratings research across NBC entertainment programming and key Sports properties (e.g., Premier League, NASCAR, and PGA Tour); create custom reports, analyze linear and digital reporting and dashboards, share relevant insights with stakeholders; use multiple research platforms and dashboards including Nielsen and NBCU proprietary research tools. This role may include working out of our NBC Sports offices in Stamford, CT periodically, with reimbursable transit. Syndication & Affiliate Relations: NBC Universal Syndication Studios produces and distributes such shows as Access Hollywood and The Kelly Clarkson Show, and the research department is responsible for informing producers and executives about their performance in the ratings and on streaming platforms. Interns will distill a large volume of data from a variety of sources, such as Nielsen ratings and digital metrics, into concise and actionable reports that will be used by program executives to help them track the performance of our shows in a highly competitive landscape, look at the ratings on a minute-by-minute basis to determine what segments, guests and topics worked best on our shows and regularly update and keep an eye on the digital performance of our shows on a variety of platforms including YouTube, AOL, Apple, and On DomainQualifications
Basic Requirements:
Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (June 2025 through August 2025). May 2025 graduates are not eligible for our Summer 2025 Internship Program.Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.Must be willing to work in New York, NY.For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.

Desired Characteristics:
Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.Previous public relations experience is a plus, but not required. Familiarity with Muck Rack, Cision, and Google Alerts a plus, but not required.Knowledge of TV Ratings, Nielsen, or data visualization tools like Tableau preferred.Affinity for numbers & ability to digest large data sets - especially with ratings and viewership data.Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Experience or familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite a plus (Premiere, Photoshop).Familiarity with HTML & Web technologies. Ability to write clean copy quickly and efficiently. Experience creating content for various social media platforms. Ability to multitask, highly organized, and strong attention to detail.
The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $17.50.
The hourly rate for Decision Sciences undergraduate student interns is $30.00.
The hourly rate for Decision Sciences graduate student interns is $35.00.
