Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa.  Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.

About this role

Reporting to the maintenance supervisor, as the Tyre Fitter your primary duties will involve the servicing, repair and maintenance of tyres for our mobile fleet and ancillary equipment whilst working in a safe, efficient and timely manner.

In this position, your duties shall encompass a wide range of responsibilities, from maintenance and repairs to inventory management and stakeholder communication. Ensuring adherence to specifications and meticulous record-keeping are vital aspects of your role. The ability to initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of machinery / equipment non-conformance, identify and record any machinery / equipment quality problems, Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels. While proactively identifying and addressing equipment issues demonstrates a commitment to quality and efficiency. Maintaining a tidy work environment is crucial for safety and productivity.

Working an 8:6 FIFO roster, with the requirement of shiftwork, this role offers an attractive lifestyle. In return, a competitive salary package, inclusive of incentives and benefits, adds to the appeal of this position.

What we're looking for Possess an Australian recognised Trade qualification as a Tyre Fitter or Technician.Post-trade experience working as a tyre fitter in a mining or heavy industry environment is highly regarded.Hold a current Forklift license and Heavy Rigid driver's licenseDemonstrate excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.Good communication, organizational, and time management skills are essential.Proven ability to contribute to team outcomes, highlighting the importance of teamwork and collaboration in achieving goals.
