Shared Services is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable services to all of our Line of Business partners. Aviation Services provides transportation for personnel within the PG&E service area and such other destinations as necessary to meet Company objectives.

 

Position Summary

The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Remote Pilot job family is responsible for UAS Program development, support, equipment maintenance, research, flight plan creation, supporting UAS training, certification, observation and operation of UAV flights to support business needs.

 

**This position is based in Concord, CA and requires frequent travel within PG&E’s service territory and will work in both field and office environments. The successful candidate may travel with overnight stays 75% of the time.**

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum: $​114,000

Bay Area Maximum: $​182,000

 

Job Responsibilities

Assists in performing data quality assurance to ensure accurate and consistent data is used in reports, databases, and files. Ensures inspection, testing and maintenance of equipment are completed. Ensures work in assigned area is completed on time, within budget and quality expectations while adhering to safety and regulatory compliance. Assists in the update and modification of work procedures and standards. Ensures work site is safe. Observes Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) flights and may operate UAV flights as required.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma Experience with UAV-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, maintenance or build Experience with UAV-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, various sensors Flight experience, UAV-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, multi-rotor platforms Flight experience, UAV-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, commercial, 200 hours FAA Part 107 Current, Remote Pilot Certificate, Small UAS-Unmanned Aerial Systems CA Class C License, or equivalent Ability to lift up to 50lbs Ability to travel using personal vehicle


Desired:

Bachelors Degree in Aeronautics or job-related discipline or equivalent experience Flight experience, UAV-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, complex large-scale missions Flight experience, UAV-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, fixed-wing platforms Flight experience, UAV-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, utility inspection AUVSI-Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International Trusted Operator Program Level 3 Certification, or similar

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and (Technical) Competencies Desired

Knowledge of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) flight control systems as need to perform at the job level Knowledge of sensor settings for cameras that take still photos and high-definition videos as needed to perform at the job level Competency in developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products – for example Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access – as needed to perform at the job level Ability to work independently with limited oversight Ability to apply safety policies, theories, concepts, methods, best practices, and techniques as needed to perform at the job level
