Covering the Trade Credit, Trade Finance and Political Risk sub-lines, the Credit Lines Claims Team Lead role is a key position responsible for supporting and delivering the Credit Lines Claims proposition within AIG UK and AIG Europe S.A. (AESA).
How you would make an impact
This is a lead market-facing role which serves as the primary operational and technical referral point for the UK as well as being a point of collaboration for the wider regional and global claims teams, Credit Lines Underwriting business leaders and other stakeholders to deliver a consistent, efficient, and customer-centric Credit Lines claims proposition.
+ Manage the UK Credit Lines Claims team of adjusters, focusing on talent development through the setting of clear goals and objectives for team members; providing performance feedback at monthly 121s and to participate in the performance review processes in accordance with company standards and AIG’s core company values.
+ Prepare for and attend various monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc meetings and forums as required covering both UK Claims and UK Credit Lines Underwriting.
+ Promote AIG’s UK Credit Lines practice in the wider claims industry via thought leadership and by supporting local Claims colleagues in contributing to and participating in renewal meetings with Underwriting, leading broker engagement and supporting new business initiatives.
+ Act as the primary contact for AIG’s UK Credit Lines vendor partners including lawyers, debt recovery specialists and consultants in multiple jurisdictions globally and to manage and lead strategy on a portfolio of recovery files.
+ Provide strong technical Credit Lines claim support and leadership in the UK, ensuring reporting best practices are met and best possible loss outcomes are achieved through technical excellence and Total Cost of Claim management.
+ Act as the UK Credit Lines claims lead handling a portfolio of high profile and large value claims up to the delegated authority, overseeing the team’s claims portfolio and approvals, authorizing reserves and payments and referring over authority claim decisions to appropriate senior claims leadership.
+ Oversee and report on the servicing of the VBA claims handling model in conjunction with AIG’s business partner and acting as the primary contact for Claims in respect of current and future digital initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
+ Support the Global Head of Credit Lines Claims in the identification and reporting of Credit Lines claims trends, lessons learned & risk management opportunities and to share with relevant Credit Lines stakeholders (to include Claims, Underwriting, Reinsurance, Actuarial, Finance) within UK and AESA.
What you'll need to succeed
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to lead and motivate a team.
+ The ability to deliver clear messaging on complex issues in a confident and articulate fashion.
+ A proven attention to detail and ability to prioritise and deliver results within agreed deadlines.
+ Be a capable planner who is organized and diligent whilst being able to demonstrate sound judgement and innovation.
+ Strong technical credit insurance knowledge and ability to manage and oversee AIG’s UK C redit Lines Claim s portfolio.
+ Demonstrate an established & proven background in credit insurance (claims and/or underwriting), credit risk management and/or law.
+ Highly collaborative approach to influence a broad range of UK and regional stakeholders, customers and brokers/producers across functions, geographies and cultures.
