UK&I Credit Control Team Leader

The main purpose of this role is to support the UK Head of Credit Control in the collection of premium receivables for UK and Ireland business.

The role is based in Glasgow, with the primary responsibility to manage and develop a team of 3 direct reports.

The successful candidate will be experienced in the management of people and the UK Insurance market. They will take ownership of the UK portfolio of Brokers and Direct Insurance policies managing premium receivables due to Chubb, ensuring bad debt exposure is kept to a minimum in line with set targets and guidelines.

You will manage and monitor overdue premium and unallocated cash performance for the team, offering support through target & priority setting and act as escalation for any collection issues that arise. Raising collection issues to the UK Head of Credit Control where necessary.

Key Responsibilites:

Deliver Due, Overdue and Inadmissible premium, Unapplied and Unallocated Cash and Claims results ensuring that any issues preventing attainment are escalated to the Head of UKI Credit Control. Management of the UKI Glasgow based Credit Control team who are responsible for the collection of outstanding debt, and the indirect management of the offshore team. Monitor team performance against all targets set in respect premium receivables. Work with and support the offshore Credit Control team and Credit Control BPO Manager, providing clear information and a point of contact for any issues they may have. Act as an escalation point to resolve all Credit Control issues including, but not limited to the Collection of Premium, Claims and the clearance of Cash received including the liaison with Underwriters, Operations, Claims, Finance and third parties. Review processes and procedures on a regular basis in order to identify efficiency gains within the team, ensuring that a consistent process is adopted across the team. Take ownership for the recruitment, performance management and development of the Credit Control team, including the identification of training needs and maximising Cross-skilling across the department. Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley control documents relevant to the team and ensure that they are maintained in accordance with company guidelines. Regular reporting to the Credit Control Management on all key responsibilities. UK Insurance market experience for a Broker or InsurerCredit Control experience managing premium receivables.Process improvement experience.People management experience including performance management, carrying out observations, leading and motivating a team to achieve SLAs and drive efficiency measures to maximise productivity.Customer Service orientatedDemonstrable ability to communicate consistently and effectively with people at all management levelCommercial acumenHigh orientation to on-time delivery
