Requirements:
Graduated from an accredited program or college/university (required)ARRT Vascular Sonography Certification (required)ARDMS Certification (preferred)BLS (Basic Life Support) (required)Minimum 1 year experience (required)Responsibilities:
Performs ultrasound examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physicianPerforms a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in applying ultrasound techniques for radiologic diagnosisResponsible for the safety and comfort of all patients undergoing ultrasound proceduresPerforms all procedures according to departmental protocolProvides guidance, direction, and mentoring to the Ultrasound students and effectively communicates departmentally and interdepartmentallyFollow relevant safety and sanitation guidelinesPerforms vascular procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in applying ultrasound techniques for imaging diagnosisResponsible for the safety and comfort of all patients undergoing ultrasound procedures.Ensures that all procedures have been appropriately ordered with satisfactory patient identification obtained prior to conducting procedure***The technologist is required to assist with coverage of fellow staff members with vacation, illness, holiday coverage, etc. ***
