Ultrasound Fellowship

 

The Department of Emergency Medicine, Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is accepting applications for our Ultrasound Fellowship. Optimal candidates will have completed an emergency medicine residency and must be BC/BE in Emergency Medicine and eligible for a Texas medical license.
 
Overview
This Fellowship equips emergency physicians to become leaders in ultrasound.  Fellows gain experience in a broad range of clinical, research, teaching, and administrative skills. The fellowship is designed for emergency physicians preparing for a career in academic emergency medicine and ultrasound. Fellows will also serve part-time as clinical faculty in the Emergency Department at University Hospital and participate in medical student and resident education pertaining to the specific fellowship program.  Fellows will learn from 8 ultrasound trained faculty, many of whom have Focused Practice Designation in Advanced Emergency Ultrasound by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
 
Structure
The fellowships begin July 1 and lasts one year. Dependent on Fellowship Program, Fellows will divide their time between clinical shifts within the Department of Emergency Medicine, educational training, projects / research and attending educational conferences.
