Under the general guidance of the physicians/providers performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasonographic procedures. Conducts patient education as necessary.
Reports to: Director of Imaging Services
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Required Licensure/Certification
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
ARRT(S) ARDMS, or equivalent certification
ARDMS (S) plus ARDMS (RVT) and/or RDCS preferred
Minimum Education
Graduate of a school of Radiologic Technology/Ultrasound required.
Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
Minimum Work Experience
At least one year of previous experience in a Sonography role is strongly preferred.
Ability to accept on-call assignments for regularly scheduled shifts when acuity and/or census indicates need. Will be available to facility within 45 minutes of notification. This status will be determined by Department Director or Administrator on call.
