Position Summary:
Performs ultrasound scans using real-time high frequency ultrasonic waves and high technology equipment, stays current on this technology and ensures that quality patient care is provided. The position involves carefully giving the patient proper instruction, reassurance, and respect. The employee must demonstrate acceptable sonography skills and the judgment and ability to work independently, along with being assigned other responsibilities as they apply to the clinical area.
Education:
Must be a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in diagnostic ultrasonography.
Training and Experience:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association upon hire or transfer to department.
Minimum one year experience as an Ultrasound Technologist is preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) abilities desirable but not mandatory.
