Ultrasound Technologist - Radiology

Ultrasound Technologists use imaging devices that emit sound waves to create an image that will help physicians assess and diagnose various conditions. In this role, you will work in conjunction with department associates and medical staff to improve patient and work flow by providing support, education and assistance to customers and fellow colleagues.

A caregiver in this position works varying shifts.  

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Perform routine imaging, emergent and invasive procedures to detect pathology.  Safely operate equipment and maintain standards while performing procedures. Provide copies of imaging studies.  Complete and ensure that all electronic data is sent to its appropriate destination. Inspect equipment to ensure proper orientation and contact service if necessary.  Document in charts upon completion of procedures.  Maintain adequate supplies in the work area.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Graduate of an accredited sonography programRegistered through the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or board eligibleRegistration through the ARDMS required within 18 months of hireBasic life support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)Knowledge of federal and state regulations

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Two years of experience as a sonographer in an acute care imaging setting
