Job Overview:

The lead sonographer provides patient services using diagnostic ultrasound equipment. The lead sonographer is competent in the production and analysis of ultrasound images used by physicians for patient diagnosis and treatment. In addition, the individual must be prepared to render quality patient care by exercising discretion and judgment in the performance of sonographic services.

Qualifications:

Required:

Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited schoolARDMS BLS through the American Heart Association

Preferred:

1 year previous supervisory experience

Scheduling Requirements:

Full-TimeDay Shift40 hours per week

Essential Functions:

Provide patient services using diagnostic ultrasound equipmentQuality production and analysis of ultrasound images used by physicians for patient diagnosis and treatmentRender quality patient care by exercising discretion and judgement in the performance of ultrasound servicesRecognizes examination findings that may require immediate clinical response and notify RadiologistRecognizes sonographic representation of normal and abnormal structures, organ, systems relationships and relational anatomyPerforms other duties as assigned
