Unbound Program Manager

Job Description

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Online Program Design and Operations, the Unbound Program Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the development and implementation of our new program initiatives. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing project timelines, and ensuring the delivery of engaging and effective programs that meet our educational objectives. The Program Manager is responsible for developing timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely delivery of new initiatives. This role also ensures successful deployment of multiple mid-level projects with an emphasis on task management and business processes.

Montclair Unbound, a new academic unit as part of Montclair University provides high-quality, innovative, and accessible learning experiences regardless of time and place. Unbound supports flexible modalities and locations to help students achieve their academic and professional goals. Unbound will meet students at their preferred method of learning and will provide the resources and infrastructure
to support it.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead program planning, execution, and delivery; define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.

Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

Maintain contracts and agreements with external and internal stakeholders; collaborate with stakeholders (academic units, administrative offices, faculty) to create a comprehensive strategy.

Serve as a liaison working out external partners that support online programs.

Work across cross-functional teams, including the Instructional Design and Technology

Services team, subject matter experts, and administrative offices.

Assign tasks and responsibilities, ensuring clear communication and accountability.

Manage project budgets and allocate resources efficiently.

Identify and address resource constraints or bottlenecks.

Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Monitor project progress and proactively address issues that may arise.

Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, including progress reports and milestone achievements.

Facilitate effective communication between team members, departments, and external partners.

Resolve conflicts and escalate issues when necessary.

Develop dashboards and report on progress

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED: 

Master’s degree from an accredited College or University.

Minimum 3 years of professional experience in higher education.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and results.

Experience with managing a portfolio of programs.

PREFERRED:

PMP or related certification

Strong knowledge of project management tools and methodologies
