**Responsibilities***
+ Meet with and advise undergraduate students on courses/classes. Maintain regular contact with students from declaration through graduation. Help students in creating course and academic plans, monitor progress and provide counsel where needed through academic status changes.
+ Review and update academic audits throughout declaration in MSE until graduation clearance.
+ Provide knowledgeable advice and/or direct students to the appropriate resource. Maintain email group list of all undergraduate students. Write letters for students for various needs.
+ Maintain the time schedule for the department courses: building classes making changes in schedules, course approval forms (CARFS).
+ Room Scheduling: reserve rooms for all of the MSE department, midterm and final exams, office hours, special events.
+ Member of MSE undergraduate committee: prepare documents, take notes. Maintain information for ABET: maintain/collect instructor reports, syllabus, etc. Process scholarships and payments MSE and CoE.
+ Attend regular meetings for Students Services coordinators and for CoE Undergraduate Program Advisors Group.
+ Other duties as assigned
**Required Qualifications***
Bachelor's degree or 4-5 years' experience in academic advising role. Knowledge of undergraduate degree requirements. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Higher salary may be considered for a highly qualified candidate.
**Desired Qualifications***
Ability to advise undergraduate students on class load and mixture of courses. Experience using 25Live. Experience setting schedule of classes. Experience hosting graduation event.
**Work Locations**
The Department of Materials Science & Engineering operates in a hybrid work environment consisting of both in-person and remote work. This position will be classified as a FLEX position within the Michigan Engineering STARR classification matrix which means working on campus 3 days per week and working remotely the rest of the week.
