An internship with Worcester Bosch will allow you to develop your skill in problem solving, critical thinking and project management while giving you the freedom to lead improvement projects, be creative in your solutions and learn about new engineering disciplines.
We are looking for someone who wants to have a real impact on our organisation, who is willing to learn from industrial professionals but who can also bring a new set of ideas to problems. The projects you will be working on will be broad-ranging and varied in size, giving you exposure to the principles of manufacturing engineering & technology and, how a project environment operates.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Improving and maintaining the day-to-day operation of the Clay Cross Manufacturing plant within the Weld and Press areas.Assist in Weld and Press projects in the manufacturing siteParticipating in and leading Continuous Improvement ProjectsSupporting the launch of new products into the plant and changes to existing productsEnsuring that we meet internal and external legislation for the manufacturing processUpkeep and creation of SOPsA good balance of office work and being hands on in a shop floor environmentProblem solving on live issues on manufacturing processes to keep production goingInterested? QualificationsPlease note that to be eligible for this role, you must be an undergraduate student seeking a placement year as part of your degree - if you do not meet these criteria please consider applying for other positions.
Our ideal candidate must have:
Undergraduate student (studying an Engineering focused degree) with a desire to complete a 13-month work placement as part of degree studies.Organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise workload.Adaptable to changing working environments Confident to challenge and create new ideas.Capable of exercising initiative individually and in a team.High attention to detail.Can communicate confidently with people at all levels of seniority, both written and verbal.IT literate and confident in using MS Office packages as well as learning Bosch and industry specialist systemsOur ideal candidate should have:
Full and valid Driving LicenseKnowledge of manufacturing processes including welding, assembly, testing and automation.Knowledge of quality tools e.g. FMEA, SPC, Capability studiesUnderstanding of Lean manufacturing techniques e.g. Pull system, Just-in-time, waste eliminationRight To Work: please ensure you have a valid Right To Work in the UK status for the entirety of the placement year upon submitting an application.

Working Hours: 39 hours per week – standard working pattern of 07:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a 30-minute unpaid lunchbreak and 07:00 – 12:00 Friday
