Undergraduate Program Coordinator
Location: Albany, NY Category: Promotional Posted On: Fri Jan 24 2025 Job Description: The Undergraduate Program Coordinator for the College of Integrated Health Sciences (CIHS) is responsible for contributing to the growth and success of CIHS' high-quality undergraduate academic programs. The Coordinator serves as a liaison between faculty, staff, and students, coordinates field and research placements, participates in recruitment and enrollment activities, plans and executes events, and collaborates on course scheduling. The Coordinator hires and supervises one work-study student each academic year. Primary Responsibilities: + Support CIHS' undergraduate programs' development and activities by serving as resource for students, faculty and staff and providing support for undergraduate faculty and course facilitators. This includes planning and executing in person events for undergraduate students to engage with faculty, staff and other students such as interest group meetings and movie nights. Staff undergraduate public health office currently located in Social Sciences 261, providing in person management of the office during normal business hours, when classes are in session. + Coordinate field and research placements. Facilitate application and interview process; coordinate with field mentors to update and approve job description. Conduct monthly review, troubleshoot issues, conduct end report and debrief with students and mentors. Oversee submission of internship paperwork and evaluations. Connect students with faculty mentors for research projects. + Liaise with Academic Advising, Registrar's Office, Undergraduate Education, the Honors College, Career and Professional Development, CIHS Dean's Office and academic departments, and other University offices. + Contribute to the growth of CIHS' undergraduate programs by participating in recruitment and enrollment activities such as Fall Preview Days, Accepted Student Open Houses, Great Danetopia, Munch with the Majors, and Online Spotlight Series. Serve as contact for prospective, admitted and newly enrolled first-year and transfer students. + Collaborate with Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Senior Associate for Academic Affairs on course scheduling. Review undergraduate class needs each semester. + Other reasonable duties as assigned Functional and Supervisory Relationships: + Reports to Associate Dean for Academic Affairs + Supervises the following positions: One work-study student per academic year + May supervise other employees as assigned Job Requirements: + Evidence of attention to detail and strong organizational skills + Evidence of strong interpersonal and communication skills + Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize, and complete assignments accurately and in a timely fashion + Ability to learn and use new technology. + Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team + Demonstrated ability to work with a culturally diverse population Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization + 1 to 3 years of relevant experience + Proficiency with Microsoft Office + Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community + Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging relative to their role Preferred Qualifications: + Supervisory experience + Experience working with students and faculty in a higher education setting + Familiarity with University systems, such as EAB, Slate, and PeopleSoft Working Environment: + Typical office environment + Some nights and weekends required Additional Information: This is a promotional opportunity for current UAlbany employees.
