We are seeking an experienced Underground Construction Laborer to join our team in Plover, WI. In this role you will complete installation, repair and testing of fiber and the different components, splice loose tube and ribbon fiber in compliance with modern standards and connect and configure fiber optic networks for facilities while troubleshooting problems.

The Role

Install and maintain aerial and underground telecommunications cablingAssist in all phases of underground construction including loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various types, sizes, and weight of construction materials and equipmentManage the use and care of all maintenance equipment including power equipment, trucks, hand tools, and laddersOperate and work around heavy equipment and machineryMaintain safe working habits and work conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and company policiesFollows safety standards throughout processesSets up safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers Requirements Prior underground and/or aerial construction experience a plusValid driver’s license required, Class A CDL a plusPassing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)Ability to learn to operate various types of utility vehicles and equipmentAbility to multi-task, shifting from one task to another without interruptionOpen to a variety of schedules; evenings and/or weekends as neededAbility to travel daily; up to 50% travel requiring overnight stays as neededAbility to work with a noise level from moderate to loudAbility to complete work outdoors, in tight spaces or elevated by bending, reaching, twisting, climbing, and working while standing up to 70% of the time, year roundAbility to occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, electricity and/or powerlines, risk of exposure to electrical shock, radiation, vibrationAbility to safely work and navigate various terrains, managing equipment, safety equipment and tools
