Underground Fitter

Kibali Gold Mine is seeking to recruit an Underground Fitter to join and grow our team. The Underground Fitter will be responsible to investigate, diagnose and perform trade related maintenance and repairs on equipment/machinery in accordance with sound engineering practices and equipment specifications.

Responsibilities
The role will require working underground. Train and develop skills of national employee to reach a trade Level 4 certification. Inspecting equipment for proper performance and determines faults and malfunctions. Adjusting equipment & repairing/replacing defective parts, components, or systems according to the scope of work. Testing repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance. Completing accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists as per the Kibali daily Maintenance task. Perform Routine service and inspection on a variety of UG machines. Provide feedback to Maintenance Foreman to enable improvements to the equipment or its operation. Provide assistance in compiling accurate data to process warranty claims and engineering machine improvements. Working as directed to minimize equipment down-time and maximize productivity Ensures that all activities comply with policies, guidelines, regulatory requirements and meet objectives as per the OEM and Barrick maintenance strategy. Ensuring inspections are carried out on all equipment before use. Documents any electrical by-pass that is required to move disabled mobile equipment. Ensure all equipment is in a Safe operation state repaired to OEM specification before going back into service. Ensuring that all tools and equipment are serviceable and safe. Takes responsibility for personal development and enhancement of skills. Proactively ensures involvement within the area of responsibility and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives Ensured any electrical by-pass that is required to move disabled mobile equipment, must be documented and repaired to OEM specification before going back into service Other duties as assigned by the Manager underground. Must present equipment, tools, and self in an orderly and tidy manner and ensure proper housekeeping of equipment and work areas. Provide contribution in a safe and costs-effective manner to achieve targets in accordance with mine safety standards, policies and procedures and ensure daily targets are met. Work in compliance with ISO 14001 and 45001 Standards. Training certificate in hydraulic circuits, earthmoving equipment maintenance, including engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drive train components.Qualification requirements
Recognised Mechanical / Fitter Trade / skilled labour certificate or equivalent.Experience and competencies needed
Minimum 2 years related experience in maintenance of mechanical equipment. Understanding of heavy equipment systems, including engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drive train components. Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and the ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic components Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment. Experience in performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy mobile equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and safety. Must be competent in working at heights and usage of lifting equipment. Able to work in exposure to extreme temperatures, wind, precipitation, in addition to working at heights. Good written and verbal communication skills and computer literate with the ability to utilise online forms/automation. Must possess the ability to self-supervise on daily tasks and metrics. Ability to work with a team and standalone for multiple hours. Promotes ethical behaviour in all aspects of the business and leads by example. Must be medically fit and be in possession of a light vehicle driving license and able to obtain a mine site light vehicle driving license.What We Can Offer You
