We are seeking an Underground Laborer to join our team in Jackson, MS. In this role you will install and maintain aerial and underground telecommunications cabling and support aerial construction as required.

The Role

Installs and maintains aerial and underground telecommunications cabling and supports aerial construction as requiredAssists in all phases of underground construction including loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipmentManages the use and care of all maintenance equipment including power equipment, trucks, hand tools and laddersOperates and work around heavy equipment and machineryMaintains safe working habits and work conditions according to all regulations, procedures and company policiesFollows safety standards throughout processesOther duties as assigned Requirements 1+ year(s) of underground telecommunications construction experience requiredValid Class A CDL requiredWorking knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, OSHA and operating safety standardsWorking knowledge of construction trenching, missiling, placing of duct, CIC, coax, fiber, pedestals and vaultsAbility to safely operate various types of utility vehicles and equipmentHigh level of energy, motivation, and attention to detailAbility to multi-task, shifting from one task to another without interruptionContinuous support of the mission, vision, ethics and values of TAK CommunicationsAbility to work outside of business hours when needed; overtime, holidays, evenings, weekends etc., in all seasonsAbility to work with a noise level from moderate to loudAbility to carry, climb, operate, and work upon an extension ladder (approximately 28 feet high and 75 pounds), ability to climb poles or other structures as neededAbility to complete work outdoors, in tight spaces or elevated by bending, reaching, twisting, climbing, and working while standing up to 70% of the time, year-round in all weather conditionsAbility to occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, electricity and/or powerlines, risk of exposure to electrical shock, radiation, vibrationAbility to safely work and navigate various terrains, managing equipment, safety equipment and toolsValid driver’s licensePassing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
