Job Description

Operating as a residential mine, these Macraes opportunities will be drive in, drive out from nearby Dunedin or Oamaru, each with stunning landscapes, adventures and beaches to explore! For the more adventurous, Queenstown is just a 3-hour drive, offering endless amounts of exciting activities (skiing, hiking, water sports, fishing and more) to enjoy on your days off. 

Our Underground Operations team are on the search for a Development Charger operator to safely charge development faces (at an average of three headings per shift) in order to achieve relevant targets.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

Efficient reporting and record keeping, collating accurate daily information and ensuring all machinery documentation is completed.Ensure damage is kept to a minimum and reported immediately.Ensure a thorough face to face handover is communicated with the cross-shift members.Ensure that equipment is utilised effectively and efficiently.Pre-starts 100% completed, workplace inspection completed as required.Keep and maintain accurate magazine records.Complete magazine stocktakes to a high standard when requiredMulti-task with Loader Operators, Nippers, Truck Operators and Service Team Members

QualificationsFull and current driver licence and confidence driving manual vehicles over rough terrainCurrent First Aid CertificateA minimum of 6th Form Certificate /NCEA Level 2 or equivalent in maths and English       

Experience:

A minimum of 2 years underground mining experienceMust have proven experience as Service CrewDemonstrated compliance with Company policies and procedures Current pit permitRe-entry TicketWater down, scaling Training TicketTruck Training TicketService Crew Training TicketApproved Handlers Ticket Explosive Handling, Transport and Storage of Explosives and Detonators TicketPassed out on all relevant Company policies and procedures
