Job Summary: Underground Operations Manager The Operations Manager provides administrative and technical management for projects and direction of field operations through subordinate managers. This position manages field operations and works with customers, senior leaders, and personnel from various other departments. Responsibilities Oversee total construction effort to ensure projects are constructed Safely, per design, budget, and schedule. Interface with field managers, clients, subcontractors, and owners to ensure Employee Safety and customer satisfaction. Plan, coordinate, and/or supervise activities of all operations employees. Keep direct contact with projects in progress by visiting sites and updating schedules weekly. Assist in disputes on all projects, negotiating as required to resolve construction problems. Oversee all projects, including P&L responsibility, internal /customer reporting, and management of fleet assets. Work with the Office Manager to ensure compliance with all internal reporting deadlines and daily revenue and cost reports. Prepare and submit invoicing daily / weekly. Work to resolve all accounts receivable invoices within 45 days. Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to and interpret policies as required. Assist with the implementation/interpretation of safety programs. Ensure projects comply with standards, cost, revenue, and schedule. Manage material, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy. Prepare project reports for management or others for completion and variance analyses for significant items or delays. Directly supervise 3 to 10 supervisors with a span of control of 60 – 120 employees Carry out supervisory responsibilities such as training employees, planning, assigning, directing work, and appraising performance. The manager must recognize and discipline employees and address complaints or resolve problems according to company policies. Perform other duties as required and/or assigned. Qualifications Minimum Bachelor’s degree in construction science, Engineering, or related field experience in UG Operations Management. 8 years of experience with 4 years of supervisory experience with mainline, trenching, directional drilling, and turnkey UG energized work. Preferred 12 or more years of related experience, with 8 years of supervisory experience. OSHA 10 Certification. Reside locally to the operations in Central Florida. (No relocation package will be offered) Physical Demands and Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and scanners. This position is primarily sedentary, with some filing or lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
