How you will create an impact

AIG Property is a global leader in its field and deploys market leading capacity across a diverse range of Industries in both the Corporate and Middle Market segments. Reporting to the Commercial Property Underwriting Manager, you will contribute to the success of the Commercial Property product tower by underwriting a sustainable and profitable portfolio of Commercial Property business within corporate underwriting guidelines and within granted underwriting authority

Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:

The underwriting and acceptance of business within the Property portfolio, in accordance with underwriting principles, relevant authority, and risk & compliance proceduresContribute to financial objective targets by adhering to established strategic goals, objectives, and action plans.Develop a pipeline of new business opportunities and manage existing relationshipsIncrease AIG market share through improved relationships with key brokers.Maintain accurate files, registers, and records to contribute to audit requirements, management reporting and timely service and policy issuanceAssist in the implementation of business plans in accordance with product line direction, and corporate goals and strategies

What you’ll need to succeed

Property underwriting skillset.Ability to negotiate deals with both international and domestic brokers.Some knowledge of Property policy wordingsA team player, working in a dynamic and interactive business environment, handling a large volume of renewal accounts, as well as sourcing new business opportunities.Demonstrate strong work ethic and be motivated to succeed and progress your career.An understanding of natural catastrophe modellingGood systems knowledge, experience of using various company bespoke systems to interrogate dataAbility to interpret the modelled output, pricing, and line setting tools to make informed decisions on growth opportunities.

Personal Competencies:

Ability to drive a culture of service excellenceStrong interpersonal skills – particularly collaboration and engagement skillsSound communication skills – including written and presentation skillsStrong team playerWillingness and desire to learn

Desired Experience:

Proven track-record in underwriting and/or broking Commercial Property insurance.Experience in underwriting and/or broking Commercial Property insurancePrevious experience within a commercial insurance environment, including exposure to clients and/or intermediaries
