AIG underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber and Multinational Clients. How you will create an impact

Evaluating, prioritizing and selecting submissions to be underwrittenDelivering strategic account reviews and preparing associated file documentationAdhering to underwriting guidelines and disciplineAssisting management with the implementation of profit center strategic initiatives and providing technical underwriting and marketing support on other projectsAssisting regional manager and product leaders in developing existing and establishing new broker relationshipsCollaborating with Distribution, Territory Managers, and other line(s) of business to target business development opportunitiesWorking with management, brokers, clients, and outside counsel on deal structure, contract terms and conditions on a portfolio of more complex risksRepresenting AIG at client and broker functionsContributing to the development of less experienced staffParticipating in special underwriting projects as neededProviding superior customer service to brokers and clients (internal & external)

What you’ll need to succeed

Understanding of Insurance and associated risks including fundamentals of loss trends, loss triangles, and ratemaking etc.Must be detail-oriented, possess analytical and critical thinking skills, decision making based on level of authority, problem solvingEffective in dynamic environment, adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, working at pace and prioritizing multiple tasksStrong communication skills (written and verbal), collaboration, building trust with wide range of colleagues and clientsNeeds to have a financial understanding, appetite for learning about the industry, negotiating and focused on profitable businessMinimum 4 years of relevant professional experience; Commercial Insurance Company, Agency or Brokerage experience preferredBachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred
