Underwriter, Property Major Accounts – 12 month contract
The Major Accounts Division of Chubb in the UKI focusses on complex UK and Multinational risk managed Insureds, who have an annual Turnover in excess of $500m. The majority of these clients are underwritten within the London branch where Chubb are seen as a key lead market.
Continuing profitable growth is a key priority for the business, with a focus on aligning the changing needs and wants of customers with sound underwriting judgement and risk selection.
With dedicated market leading experienced professionals, the Major Accounts division is primed for further growth in the coming years, and we need an experienced Underwriter to help drive our success in the UKI business.
Role Purpose
The key purpose of the role is to Underwrite both new and renewal business in support of business plan objectives for retention and growth. Key activities of the job holder are:
Day to day management of an agreed broker panel and renewal book. To underwrite existing renewal accounts, solve broker enquires and build lasting client relationships. Renewal meetings, broker pipeline and general business development activities in support of the continued growth of the product line. To work closely with the business development managers to assist with broker enquires and developing new opportunities and relationships To work closely with underwriters in other lines of business across the UK&I to maximise cross sell opportunitiesKey Responsibilities:
Assist with driving the Property Major Accounts business growth and profitability through focussed distribution and broker engagement activities. Underwrite a sustainable balance of business in support of team revenue, profitability, growth and production objectives. Maximising opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling within Chubb UK&I through internal marketing at cross class meetings and relationship management. Develop and manage external broker and client relationships. Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of Multinational Property Underwriting, the insurance market and competitors. Solid experience of dealing with brokers and clients. Results driven with ability to make own decisions and work on own initiative. An experienced professional who is recognised externally. Expected to be undertaking DCII and ACII qualification, continues to develop technical and broader business skills.Fluent English language skills
