We are now looking for an Underwriter to join our Nordic Corporate A&H team in Copenhagen – a team of highly skilled and motivated professionals working across the Nordic Region. The role will be focused on our Danish and Norwegian portfolio but will also support the team’s activities across the Nordic region. You will work closely with colleagues across the Nordic countries and our regional hub in Paris.

The role is also market facing and you will be responsible for growing the A&H portfolio, primarily initially in Denmark.

As a Corporate A&H Underwriter your key focus will be:

Underwriting of both new and renewal business, in Accident and Health lines, primarily Business Travel and Group Personal Accident, within all of our business segments. This will  include a focus on multinational programs and facilitating our Expatriate Insurance via our cooperation with Gouda.

Be the go-to person in Copenhagen in relation to underwriting and wording technical questions and supporting the Corporate A&H Manager in Stockholm. Market facing in Denmark and Norway Key Account Management for selected major clients and partners – with a key focus on our Gouda cooperation for Expatriate insurance

Your key responsibilities as a Corporate A&H Underwriter will be to:

Underwriting and pricing of new and renewal business according to defined underwriting guidelines and personal underwriting authority, including conducting broker and client negotiations on price, terms and conditions. Deal with underwriting referrals in conjunction with the Corporate A&H Underwriting Manager and the North Europe regional underwriting team. Champion and ensure quality in the Corporate A&H underwriting foundation in Denmark and Norway. Creating and executing a market plan for profitable growth in Denmark and Norway, managing a pipeline and finding and engaging growth areas and partners, and internal opportunities for cross-sell.  Day-to-day co-operation and management of the Gouda expatriate insurance facility and relationship. Support the Corporate A&H team and manager in all aspects of team activity, including, but not limited to market facing actions, distribution, portfolio management, product development, reporting, compliance and corporate projects.

Note that underwriting, distribution and relationship management and market activities have an equal weight. This is a unique role that gives an ambitions individual the opportunity to demonstrate skills across the full scope of commercial insurance.

You will report to the Head of Major Accounts, Denmark & Norway with a secondary reporting line the Corporate A&H Manager, Nordics.

Your Qualifications

A minimum 5+ years of experience within Accident and Health, or related lines, underwriting experience or similarExperience of working in a multinational environment Knowledge of the A&H market in Denmark and the wider Nordics, and client facing experience, is particularly usefulExcellent communication and commercial skills Experience in negotiating and attracting profitable businessDanish and English on a professional level – written and spoken Self-driven and proactive with a Can-do attitude Proficient in MS Office tools and the ability to follow a steep learning curve for similar tools used in underwriting.Relevant academic or professional qualifications are an advantage
