Underwriter I is an entry level underwriting role focused on developing underwriting skills and expertise. Training will cover fundamental underwriting principles necessary to review and evaluate new business and inforce business to determine risk acceptability, while ensuring rating and information accuracy. 

What you will do:

·         Develop risk exposures, make decisions, accept, modify or reject the risk exposures in accordance with underwriting policies, practices and Exchange guidelines.

·         Communicate and document their decisions to applicants and internal business partners.

What you will bring:

·         Bachelor’s degree or two or more years underwriting and/or insurance experience preferred.

·         Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication and organizational skills.

·         Customer service oriented.

·         Analytical and problem-solving aptitudes.

·         Ability to work in a high-energy, collaborative, team-oriented environment.

·         Successful completion of background and drug screenings.
