What you'll do:

Mortgage Underwriter II is responsible for underwriting Agency Conventional loans by reviewing the credit, capacity and collateral characteristics of loan files to ensure it meets company and investor quality standards.

What we are looking for:

Manage individual pipeline on a daily basis by completing Underwriting Reviews, Conditions Reviews and other Underwriting Tasks within established turn timesIdentify any document deficiencies, request additional information and/or documentation from Clients as neededExpert ability to navigate and interpret all agency and company guidelinesAssist other department personnel in interpreting underwriting guidelines, update loan status and complete all necessary tasks assigned to loan. Contact clients to provide updates and clarification on outstanding conditions and deficiencies identified on loansOther duties as assigned

What you need to have:

5+ years mortgage industry experience, with 3 years recent underwriting or loan review experience.College degree preferred but not requiredAbility to communicate effectively and professionallyBasic proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, etc.)Loan quality and risk managementExperience in Retail or Non-Delegated UnderwritingKnowledge of FNMA and FHLMC guidelines.Knowledge of FHA, VA and USDA guidelines a plus, but not required. DE or LAPP/SAR a plus, but not requiredProficiency with automated underwriting systems such as Desktop Underwriter and Loan ProspectorGood Customer/Client service skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced production environmentSelf-starter, self-reliant, dependable, ability to work within and meet specific time constraintsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPrioritization and Time Management skillsAbility to learn and adapt to guideline change
