For over 15 years the Breckpoint team has specialized in consulting, forming, and managing alternative risk programs spanning self-insured groups, captives, and traditional self-funding arrangements. Our expertise extends to employer benefits, with over $30M in premium within our major medical program. Leveraging diverse strategies, we maximize the benefit of self-funding while integrating sustainable cost containment solutions. Currently we seek an Underwriting Analyst to contribute to the maintenance and expansion of our program.

Job Summary:

The Medical Underwriting Analyst is the first point of contact during the proposal submission process and must be a professional and courteous face for the underwriting department. The Medical Underwriting Analyst will perform standard, cursory reviews of all prospective and renewal quotes. Using company guidelines to assure equitable treatment of our client companies and their applicants for insurance and producers to meet revenue and profitability goals.

Roles and Responsibilities

Communicate with internal sales team, external producer channels, vendors or third-party administrators

Determine the completeness of a prospective client quote submission and work with multiple parties to ensure proper documentation for risk analysis is received

Understand and utilize underwriting tools and record keeping

Organize and prioritize proposals and provide effective communication of underwriting needs with an emphasis on relationship building

Maintain time-service, quality, and production goals for assigned work

Follow specific underwriting guidelines and procedures

Ability to assist team members across all aspects of the underwriting, sales, and policy administration

This position

Full time, Monday - Friday

Can be in Las Vegas office or remote; for remote employees travel should be expected at about once a quarter

Education:

Bachelor’s degree OR

2-5 years of medical stop loss experience in lieu of education will be considered
