The Underwriting Analyst, Employee Benefits will be responsible for risk assessment and decision-making for our existing block of business. This individual will work closely with the Distribution team to evaluate renewals and amendments/plan changes, all while keeping the Company’s financial objectives in mind. The Underwriting Analyst will also collaborate with other departments and vendor partners with underwriting-related issues and applicable best practices.

Key Job Responsibilities

Risk assessment and decision-making on renewals and amendmentsWork closely with the Distribution team to deliver timely renewals, keeping the Company's financial objectives in mindCollaborate with other departments and vendor partners with underwriting-related issues and applicable best practicesWork within Equitable's quoting platform and other rating tools to review and import census files, plan design features, and develop manual ratesExecute to key KPIs, including, pricing strategy targets, sales targets, persistency and TaT performance


The base salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or relevant hands on work experienceEstablished Customer Service skills and experiencePossesses a high level of reliability, responsibility and organizationStrong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsExcellent time managementProficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

Group Employee Benefits experience is preferred with familiarity of the following products - Life/ADD, Dental, Vision, Short and Long Term Disability

Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

Project Administration: Knowledge of project administration best practices and ability to use organizational strategies, practices and tools for administering projects.
