Description We are looking for an Underwriting Associate to join our team in Jersey City, New Jersey. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in supporting underwriting processes and ensuring the smooth operation of policy renewals and implementations. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage high-volume tasks efficiently. Responsibilities: • Prepare renewal analysis templates with key information for underwriting review, ensuring completion 90 days prior to renewal. • Verify policy implementation documents within three days of receipt to confirm alignment with quoted terms. • Coordinate the booking and issuance of multiline policies and endorsements. • Communicate with brokers and overseas offices to gather renewal details 60-90 days before renewal deadlines. • Distribute policy copies to brokers upon request to facilitate smooth communication. • Assist underwriters in reviewing and resolving Workers' Compensation criticisms. • Perform data entry and document management tasks to maintain accurate records. • Support additional administrative and operational tasks as needed to enhance workflow efficiency. Requirements • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Experience handling high-volume workloads with strong organizational skills. • Proficient in desk management techniques to prioritize and track tasks effectively. • Adaptability to shift focus and respond to changing priorities. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Meticulous attention to detail in compiling, evaluating, and interpreting complex data. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with strong overall computer skills. • High school diploma required, with at least one year of experience in an underwriting assistant role.
