Underwriting Specialist I / Underwriting Assistant K&K Insurance Group, a subsidiary of Aon, has been recognized as the leading provider of sports, leisure, and entertainment insurance products. We have an exciting opportunity for an Underwriting Assistant to join our K&K Sports Division. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and two to three days per week in our Fort Wayne, Indiana office. The Underwriting Assistant is accountable for preparing underwriting submission files for assigned programs, including fully completed applications for insurance coverages and all related documents and information needed to enable Underwriters to fully evaluate the risk and render appropriate underwriting decisions. This is a primary level underwriting support position responsible for administering basic to moderately complex account files. What the day will look like Obtain documents and information needed to prepare an underwriting submission file, including a fully completed application and related documents, such as inspection reports, financial statements, loss data, Motor Vehicle Reports (MVR’s), and other information needed to properly evaluate and classify the degree of risk in relation to proposed coverage limits. Prepare renewal account files by obtaining information needed for underwriters to review. Compile and summarize pertinent data to assist underwriters in their review and evaluation of submissions. Complete a variety of day-to-day client service transactions, including policy endorsements, certificates, binders, cancellations, or other necessary tasks as needed. Assist underwriters in carrying out their essential duties and responsibilities to enhance the overall performance of the team through utilization of the systems and guidelines as provided. Develop and maintain positive and constructive working relationships with underwriters, marketing professionals, brokers, and policy operations processing associates to provide high quality service to clients. Complete a variety of underwriting projects at the direction of the Underwriting Manager or Underwriting Director and SVP. Skills and experience that will lead to success Property & Casualty license preferred, required to obtain within three months of hire date 1-3 years commercial insurance industry experience Experience with the Microsoft Office suite products (Word, Outlook, Excel) Education: Associates degree or equivalent years of industry experience How we support our colleagues In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce. The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $45,000 to $50,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
