**Pay Range:** 34.61 - 58.14

**Summary:**
The Unified Communications (UC) Engineer is responsible for administration and support for voice services including telephony, collaboration systems, desktop and softphones, wireless phones, and voicemail systems. The UC Engineer will utilize a broad knowledge of unified communications, network, server, and telecommunications to aid in the design, configuration and implementation of unified communications systems and applications. Additionally, the UC Engineer troubleshoots, provides updates regarding the performance and availability of services, and proactively resolves problems. The role monitors system performance to recommend whether adjustments need to be made. The UC Engineer participates in customer and business partner meetings.The UC Engineer is responsible for after-hours on-call, monitors incident management queues, and follows service level agreements (SLAs) to align with operational performance goals.The UC Engineer holds the team and organization-level responsibilities and works independently on standard and ad hoc functions. The UC Engineer assists and mentors less experienced colleagues.
**Responsibilities:**
Deliver UC/UCCE Solutions
+ Carry out routine telephony-related installations, moves, modifications, and repairs, as well as system programming and troubleshooting outages.
+ Work with vendors, clients, carriers and technical staff on implementation, optimization, and security of Cisco Unified Communications system. This includes but is not limited to troubleshooting infrastructure and services including CUCM, CUC, CCE, CUBE, Jabber, WebEx, Finesse, voice gateways, and all other Unified Communications applications.
+ Support maintenance/upgrades on UC/UCCE infrastructure and end points.
+ Ensure successful delivery to support strategic planning and initiatives, improve organizational performance, and advance progress towards RUSH goals.
Improve Processes and Standards
+ Maintain technology related documentation, ensuring that accurate information is always available to other colleagues and management.
+ Maintain system logging and provide performance metrics.
Effective Team Member
+ Consistently demonstrate a very high level of teamwork, partnership, and collaboration.
+ Training/Mentoring UC and other IT staff.
+ Train and support end-users.
Technical Leadership
+ Provide incident management and support to the critical issues reported by RUSH staff.
+ Support the technical delivery of projects, including configuration and testing of technical solutions for enterprise (UC) voice communications.
**Job Qualifications:**
Education
+ **Minimum:** Associate Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (2 years combination of relevant experience and education may be considered in lieu of degree)
+ **Preferred:** Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field strongly preferred.
Work Experience
**Minimum:**
+ 3 years demonstrated success configuring, maintaining and supporting Cisco Unified Communications infrastructure.
+ 3 years demonstrated success troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose problems in large- scale voice implementations.
+ 3 years demonstrated success translating business needs into operational requirements.
+ 3 years demonstrated success as mentoring and teaching others on Unified Communications technologies.
**Preferred:**
+ 5 years relevant experience in a Healthcare setting
+ 5 years relevant experience in IT, Business Operations, Project Management, Analytics or Monitoring
+ 5 years relevant experience supporting Cisco or similar UCaaS solutions.
+ 5 years relevant experience supporting Cisco contact center; creating and modifying scripts.
+ 5 years relevant experience supporting Calabrio suite of products.
+ 5 years relevant experience supporting Genesys CX cloud or similar CCaaS solutions.
Licenses & Certifications
**Preferred:**
+ CompTIA A+ Core
+ CompTIA A+ Network+ CCNA Certification
+ CCNP Collaboration Certification
