The Unified Communications Technician\/Net Ops Specialist will be responsible for managing and maintaining the unified communications infrastructure at Fort Johnson. This includes supporting voice, video, and messaging systems, ensuring reliable operation, and providing technical support for end-users. The role requires expertise in network operations, troubleshooting, and system integration.\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n\n

Unified Communications Management:\n\nAdminister and support unified communications systems including VoIP, video conferencing, and messaging platforms.\nMonitor system performance and perform regular maintenance to ensure optimal functionality.\nImplement and manage system updates, patches, and upgrades.\n\n\n\n

Network Operations:\n\nManage network infrastructure related to unified communications, including switches, routers, and firewalls.\nTroubleshoot and resolve network issues impacting unified communications services.\nEnsure the secure and efficient operation of network systems in accordance with DOD requirements.\n\n\n\n

Technical Support:\n\nProvide tier-2 and tier-3 technical support for end-users experiencing issues with unified communications systems.\nDevelop and maintain documentation related to system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.\n\n\n\n

System Integration and Implementation:\n\nAssist in the planning and implementation of new unified communications technologies and solutions.\nCoordinate with vendors and other IT teams to integrate new systems and technologies.\n\n\n\n

Security and Compliance:\n\nEnsure all unified communications systems comply with security policies and procedures.\nConduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans of the unified communications infrastructure.\n\n\n\nQualifications:\n\n\n

Education:\n\nAssociate's degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.\n\n\n\n

Experience:\n\nMinimum of 3 years of experience in unified communications or network operations roles.\nProven experience with VoIP, video conferencing, and messaging systems.\nHands-on experience with network equipment and protocols.\n\n\n\n

Certifications:\n\nRequired: DOD 8140 compliant certification(s) (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA).\nPreferred: Certifications in unified communications technologies (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Cisco Unified Communications).\n\n\n\n

Skills:\n\nStrong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\nProficiency in network management tools and techniques.\nExcellent communication and customer service skills.\n\n\n\n

Additional Requirements:\n\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nMust possess a Secret clearance and meet DOD 8140 compliance requirements\n\n\n\n
