Job Summary:\n
The Unified Communications Technician\/Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining unified communications systems, including VoIP, video conferencing, and messaging platforms, as well as providing systems administration support for server and network infrastructure. This role ensures the effective operation of communication systems and the secure, reliable performance of IT services in accordance with DOD standards and requirements.\n
Key Responsibilities:\n\n\n
Unified Communications Management:\n\nConfigure, maintain, and troubleshoot unified communications systems, including VoIP, video conferencing, and instant messaging platforms.\nMonitor system performance and implement necessary updates or patches to ensure system reliability and security.\nProvide support for end-users, including training and troubleshooting issues related to unified communications.\n\n\n\n
Systems Administration:\n\nAdminister server environments, including installation, configuration, and management of operating systems and applications.\nOversee network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls, ensuring optimal performance and security.\nPerform regular backups, recovery procedures, and system monitoring to ensure data integrity and system uptime.\n\n\n\n
Security and Compliance:\n\nEnsure all systems and communications platforms comply with DOD 8140 regulations and security standards.\nImplement and maintain security policies and procedures to protect sensitive information and prevent unauthorized access.\nConduct vulnerability assessments and apply necessary patches or updates to address security vulnerabilities.\n\n\n\n
Documentation and Reporting:\n\nMaintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.\nGenerate regular reports on system performance, incident resolutions, and compliance status.\nAssist in the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.\n\n\n\n
Qualifications:\n\n\n
Education and Experience:\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.\nMinimum of 3 years of experience in unified communications and systems administration.\n\n\n\n
Skills:\n\nProficiency in managing unified communications systems, including VoIP, video conferencing, and messaging platforms.\nStrong knowledge of server and network administration, including Windows and Linux environments.\nExperience with security protocols, vulnerability assessments, and compliance with DOD 8140 requirements.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.\n\n\n\n
Certifications:\n\nRelevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate) preferred.\n\n\n\n
