Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Union Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic payroll team. This role involves processing corporate payroll, handling multi-state payroll, managing union reporting, and conducting audits. The ideal candidate will partner with HR and Benefits to ensure accurate payroll processing and compliance with union requirements. You will be responsible for maintaining payroll records, resolving employee queries, and preparing performance reports. This position offers a supportive work environment with a focus on employee satisfaction.

ResponsibilitiesProcess all corporate payroll, including bi-weekly and multi-state payroll for VP's and other employees.Handle commissions and complex pay concepts such as bonus payments, car allowances, inpats, and expats.Manage union reporting, including prevailing wage and certified payroll reports.Conduct audits on union reporting and perform data transfer from e-Time to ADP Payroll.Audit employee earnings including overtime, shift differentials, and incentives.Record voluntary pay deductions, including union dues and multi-state tax deductions.Calculate, report, and pay monthly union fringes.Resolve employee questions and concerns regarding timesheets, deductions, tax changes, and pay.Research discrepancies regarding vacation and sick pay within the e-Time system.Review timecards for missing punches and validate total worked time.Maintain payroll records and distribute paychecks.Lead year-end reporting and distribution of W2's.Process garnishments and child support as per local regulations.Prepare weekly performance reports for management.Process manual checks as approved by leadership.Act as an escalation point to the Payroll Partners.Manage and complete assigned projects.Work with ADP on company tax issues.Essential Skills3+ years of Union Payroll experienceExperience with prevailing wage and certified payrollExperience in managing large payrollsProficiency in Workday and/or ADP (preferred)Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with payroll tax and union reportingAbility to handle complex pay conceptsStrong auditing skillsExcellent problem-solving abilitiesWork Environment

You will be part of a team of seven payroll specialists, with half located in Minnesota and others spread across the US. The role offers flexible working hours, with the option to work from the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. During the initial training period, you will be expected to be in the office more frequently. The team is a mix of outgoing and focused individuals, working in a spacious office on the 3rd and 4th floors of a modern building. The work environment is supportive, with a strong emphasis on employee happiness and job satisfaction.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $36.05
