Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Accounting Specialist to join our team. This role involves a variety of accounting tasks, including reception duties, purchasing/payables, and payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as experience with union workplace payroll.
ResponsibilitiesAnswer phones, sort mail, filing, and scanning.Assist with obtaining final invoices for Purchase Orders when a job is completed. Call/email vendors to verify rental returns and confirm all invoices for POs.Post receipts for credit card purchases. Review credit card statements and reach out to cardholders for missing receipts.Assist Accounts Payable with any invoice entry during busier times.Review union dispatch and I-9 forms.Enter new employees into the system and verify information on existing employees.Create timecards from job timesheets.Enter time into journals and reconcile to job timesheets.Essential SkillsExperience with Dynamics, Reporting, and Microsoft Excel.Knowledge of payroll tax and union payroll.Proficiency in payroll software, accounts payable, general ledger, and payroll processing.Strong data entry, accounting, reconciliation, payroll accounting, and analysis skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExcellent customer service skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.Experience with VoIP phone systems and general office equipment such as printers, copiers, and scanners.Familiarity with Microsoft Navision Attain accounting system.Strong understanding of job cost accounting principles.Experience in a union workplace payroll environment.Work Environment
This role is based in a gated facility where the candidate may sometimes work alone in the building. Standard working hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The company has offices in Portland, Oregon; Tacoma, Washington; and Spokane, Washington. The Tacoma branch office staff is primarily responsible for accounting prep work related to job activities in Tacoma but also provides support to the Portland office when necessary. The work includes purchasing, payables, job billing, and payroll, which are then submitted to headquarters for final processing.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
