Works under the supervision of the Manager. Transports patients, as well as assists with direct patient care and procedures that have been ordered by a physician. Ensures that transport equipment is maintained properly.

 

Responsibilities:
1. Cleans, decontaminates, disinfects and sterilizes endoscopic equipment and supplies.
2. Stores endoscopes in proper receptacles.
3. Operates automatic scope washer and ultrasonic cleaner.
4. Runs errands as needed.
5. Processes accessories/ancillary equipment safely and correctly.
6. Checks endoscopic equipment for damages and reports promptly.
7. Stores and maintains sterility of supplies and equipment.
8. Maintains acute awareness of infection control and safety at all times.
9. Assists in recovery area, replacing lines, making beds.
10. Maintains acute awareness of equipment status at all times.
11. Changes high-level disinfectant agents according to protocol.
12. Helps keep department clean, neat and well stocked at all times.
13. Carries specimens to the lab.

Essential:
* General Education Degree

 

Other information:
1. Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
2. Licensure: None. Maintains CPR annually.
3. Experience: None.
Demonstrates standards of performance (ownership, teamwork, communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Individual will possess commensurate combination of education, experience and qualifications.
