In the Float Pool, you will work with diverse populations of patients in numerous units, departments and/or locations while learning from many of our best caregivers. **A caregiver in this position works Evenings, from 3:00pm-11:30pm.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Perform receptionist and clerical duties. + Receive, greet, and direct patients, visitors, and caregivers. + Receive, place and transfer telephone calls and record, communicate and deliver messages. + Respond to service and information requests. + Remain calm and reassuring while providing directions during emergency situations, STAT requests, and orders. + Receive and distribute items for patients. + File reports and test results, maintain medical records, and prepare charts for medical records upon discharge. + Transcribe physician orders. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High school diploma or GED. + Previous clerical experience. Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Clerical experience in a healthcare setting. + Knowledge of medical terminology.
