Recruitment/Posting Title Unit Computing Specialist Job Category Staff & Executive - Information Technology Department IPO-Information Technology Overview The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) employs a workforce of approximately 2,700 staff, represented by 15 collective negotiations agreements, and is responsible for institutional strategic initiatives and operations, which encompasses an expansive range of comprehensive service and business operations across the State of New Jersey. These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations. Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Unit Computing Specialist for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). The IP&O Service Desk acts as a single point of contact between the IT organization and the business for all incident reports, service requests, change notifications and any other necessary communications. Reporting to the Unit Computing Manager, The IP&O IT Service Management Representative (UCS) is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, upgrade, security, and support for all workstations, mobile devices, including managing their service desk ticketing queues, call center queues and applications required to support business needs, as they pertain to the delivery of services to IP&O end user community for the Service Desk.

Among the key duties of this position are the following: This role is responsible for all core service management processes specific process (e.g., incident management, service request management and knowledge base management, problem, service level, and IT asset management). These individuals are responsible to assess needs, identify pain points, and make recommendations to drive organizational transformation and improve/accelerate service delivery. This includes, receiving, prioritizing, documenting and successfully resolving end-user issues. The candidate will be required to maintain the ServiceDesk inventory database and document PC-related procedures. This position will be placed into a rotational schedule for afterhours call support.
