Job Summary:

Where is the work:

This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week. 

What you will do:   

Work with product management and application engineering to understand product requirementsDevelop control strategies and algorithms to meet or exceed product requirementsDevelop technical specifications to be used by the team for software development and verificationUtilize effective communication techniques to help team members understand and implement the design strategyLead dynamic controls testing: test planning, lab support, data analysisDevelop and execute hardware in loop testing (real time data analysis)Advance model driven development methodsAble to travel overnight; less than 5% of the time.

What you will bring: 

Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related), Master’s degree preferred0-3 years of control theory experienceClassical control knowledge required (PID control, linear control, digital filtering)Advanced control knowledge preferred (modern control theory, model predictive control, non-linear control, adaptive control)System modeling expertise required.  (Proficiency with Matlab Simulink, and optionally Stateflow)Understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamicsProgramming skills in C++ with the ability to learn new programming languagesAbility to function in a team environmentExperience with product development processes preferredExperience with HVAC Systems and Components preferredAbility to effectively communicate with others both written and orally. Mobility within the office. Frequent keyboarding. Ability to travel to Trane Business Locations

Compensation:   

Base Pay Range: $62,000 - $135,000
