Job Summary
Unit Coordinator-Medical Intensive Care UnitWe are seeking an experienced administrative profession for a highly visible role within our prestigious Blake 7 Medical Intensive Care unit at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Blake 7 is an eighteen bed Adult Medical Intensive Care Unit. This is a multidisciplinary unit with a variety of complex respiratory and medical patients. The unit cares for patients who may require treatments that include CVVH and ECMO. Notable diagnosis includes but not limited to sepsis, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, heme-oncology, cardiac, neurology, and infectious diseases such as H1N1, suspect Ebola virus and the novel Corona Virus.

Unit Coordinators are responsible for managing information and facilitating communication between patients, families, and medical staff. Accuracy and effective interpersonal skills are essential.
A professional to answer calls from patients, triage messages to the nursing team, and effectively communicate with multiple departments to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
An admin that can transcribe medical charts for patients using EPIC, ensuring the completeness, integrity, confidentiality, and security of all medical treatments and procedures.
Highly organized individuals who can prioritize and handle information in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that critical tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Skilled and compassionate communicators who excel in coordinating all essential patient services, ensuring a seamless and comforting experience for patients and their families.
Individuals who excel in a dynamic and inclusive setting, where precision, integrity, and outstanding customer service skills are vital for achieving success.

Day (7am-7:30pm, 7am-3:30pm)
Night (7pm-7:30am, 11pm-7:30am)
Evenings (3pm-11pm)
Must be able to provide weekend and holiday coverage

Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree preferred
Medical or health care experience desirable, but willing to train otherwise qualified candidates.
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and procedures
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Strong customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers
Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems.
