Summary
Greets people at the nurses' station and answers their questions or refers them to appropriate staff members. Prepares patient admission charts. Performs unit-based, non-clinical duties related to the admission, discharge and transfer of patients. Completes delivery log book, scheduling inductions. Assists in ordering supplies and stocking. Ensures all lab specimens are ordered and sends specimens to the lab. Organizes activities at the nurses' station. Issues visitor passes per established procedures and answers patient call lights. Accepts patient medications from pharmacy or tube station and gives directly to the charge nurse or assigned nurse. Serves as a scrub tech on obstetrical surgical procedure and sets up delivery table and prepares room for deliveries.
Job Requirements
a. Minimum Education Requirement :
High School or equivalent. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
b. Minimum Experience Requirement :
Office or hospital experience preferred. Excellent customer service skills required. OR Surgical Tech experience or in lieu of experience, completion of a Surgical Tech certification program required.
c. Minimum License Requirement :
Unit Secretary and OR certification preferred. BLS required.

Pay Range:
$21.00 - $31.50
