About the unit 

5 Children's is a Pediatric Med Surg floor with 24 private rooms at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital.  Nurses are often drawn to this team, for the variety of patients and the team culture. Our team is competent in caring for a large array of both surgical and medical patients.  Specifically, our team is known as being experts in the care of: Ortho, Trauma, Neurosurgery, General Surgery and Psychiatric/Behavioral patient care

Scope of work  

Performs receptionist/secretarial duties and maintains confidential records, supplies and equipment per hospital and unit specific standards. Greets and directs guests on the unit in a manner that reflects a welcoming environment. Performs computer entry, schedules tests/procedures, processes orders, and performs other related activities per unit/hospital standard within a reasonable time frame.
