POSITION DETAILS:
This position is a full-time, non-exempt position, 37.5 hours per week. The hourly rate for this position is $25.00. This position, based on eligibility, offers a comprehensive benefit package, to include: health and dental insurance, NYS retirement, vacation, sick and personal leave.

Required Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree or equivalent education (High School Diploma/GED and 1 year of transferrable program/functional experience).Experience relevant to the role of the position.Valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.Ability to meet all School Age Child Care (SACC) and Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) licensing requirements (i.e. Tuberculosis Test, physical exam, training requirements).Ability to work flexible hours, which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.Ability to lift between 20-50 pounds.Preferred Qualifications:

Program Responsibilities:
Program Delivery - 10%
Work to foster acceptance of the RootED and UNITY Project programs, methods, and policies to address community and individual needs and consider diverse audiences.Utilize established program resources and materials in providing information and resources to program participants in established RootED and UNITY Programming.Teach the existing educational program as defined in support of RootED and UNITY programming efforts.Assist in the creation of lesson plans and assist in teaching innovative educational programs as assigned.Assist in providing RootED and UNITY educational programming via mass media.Via established program parameters, communicate and cooperate with school personnel to foster intentional instruction and to address the needs and interests of participating youth.Utilizing established materials, serve as subject matter resource in the area of Children, Youth and Families and provide standard responses.Serve as a team member and cooperate with the entire Association and programming staff to achieve Association program delivery goals.Administrative Responsibilities:
Direction and Management - 10%
Assist Supervisor and other program staff with non-complex administrative tasks in the planning of educational programs in RootED and UNITY programming.Provide administrative assistance in planning for mass media efforts in RootED and UNITY programming. Assist UNITY program educators with the planning of youth community action projects as identified at UNITY project sites.Provide management (including recruitment and selection) and supervision (including guidance, trainings, performance feedback and annual performance reviews) to designated staff in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols, and provide regular staffing updates to the Association Program Coordinator and/or Executive Director as required.Provide routine non-complex administrative management of established educational program goals.Provide routine non-complex administrative tasks in guiding the implementation of the program area budgets.Provide non-complexity administrative tasks in guiding the implementation of communication strategies.Assist with problem solving and resolving issues that arise, as needed.Assist the Supervisor with identifying, anticipating, recommending and planning for RootED and UNITY needs/supplies.Coordination/Operation - 75%
Organize and coordinate program activities for assigned programming areas.Provide administrative assistance in the completion of reports as required by the funding sources and/or the Association.Coordinate monthly meetings for collaborators. Coordinate family engagement events in both the Binghamton City School District and the UNITY families in the Union-Endicott School District.Effectively communicate with parents and/or stakeholders of school districts as needed to achieve program goals.Assist with program evaluation to include collecting evaluation and needs assessment forms from program participants for all assigned program areas as appropriate. Coordinate, compile and organize existing program resources and program materials.Under the direction of the Supervisor, coordinate and assist with special projects and outreach efforts as instructed.Effectively maintain existing professional relationships with other agencies, organizations and businesses that promote effective communication and facilitate continued programming efforts.Attend state and national meetings as appropriate and feasible. Provide administrative support for the coordination and implementation of multi-media efforts in the promotion of programming.Coordinate and provide a variety of training and technical assistance (i.e. internet access, audio, equipment set up, etc.) related to implementing the Public Adventures curriculum, creating youth/adult partnerships, workforce prep, website development technology, and other youth community action related trainings.Assist UNITY program educators with follow-up based on youth community action projects as identified at sites.This position may require the transport of program participants and/or program materials and resources in performing position responsibilities.Professional Improvement and Other Duties as Assigned - 5%
Participate in required trainings.In cooperation with Supervisor and/or Executive Director, jointly develop and pursue a professional development plan as a means to increase competencies relative to position accountabilities and to address changes in programming and association priorities.Collaborate in activities that are in general support of Cornell Cooperative Extension including but not limited to attendance at staff meetings, timely reporting of expenses, working with other staff, general marketing of Extension programs and other duties as assigned.Health and Safety - Applied to all duties and functions.
