Job Description:
The jobholder is responsible for the maintenance and development of relationships with university key opinion leaders, including faculty, residents, interns, staff and students. The jobholder is also responsible for outreach and development of programs specific to assigned universities, including Veterinary Student Ambassadors, University Feeding Program and sample programs. The jobholder is also responsible for participation in events associated with the university program, including (but not limited to) regional and national conferences, meetings with internal and external stakeholders and university symposia. The jobholder will also network to develop opportunities for clinical research and the Royal Canin Nutritional Education Program.
Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (active license – at least 1 state)
3+ years’ experience as a veterinary practitioner, internship, co-ops AND/OR residency (small, companion animal experience preferred)
Excellent scientific communication and presentation skills
Excellent PC skills (Microsoft Word/PowerPoint/Teams/OneNote)
Ability to work independently with minimal direction
Ability to travel up to 75% within territory (Company car eligible)
Ability to travel nights and weekends and make own travel arrangements
What will be your key responsibilities?1. Develop and expand relationships with strategic players and key opinion leaders in academia and university environments to further the understanding, acceptance and promulgation of Mars and Royal Canin scientific research specific to our therapeutic and retail diet lines.
2. Continue development and implementation of student ambassador programs and opportunities including onboarding strategy.
3. Elevate Royal Canin US status as a thought leader through scientific and nutrition presentations and consultations at university events.
4. Provide scientific support (training/consultations) on the therapeutic and retail diet lines for key opinion leaders and students in university settings.
5. Manage university student ambassadors at assigned universities to promote brand growth and development.
6. Promote brand awareness through the Royal Canin University Feeding Program and manage enrollment and expansion of this program at assigned universities.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between the below range, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay & general allowances (depending on the position and employee’s work schedule). Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable policies and plans then in effect, and depending on the position offered and the employee’s work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule), eligible employees are automatically enrolled in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents, and may be eligible to take up to 18 weeks of paid parental leave. Employees will also receive the following paid-time off (which may be prorated based on start date and the employee’s work schedule): 120 hours of vacation per year, paid sick time for eligible Associates of 100% pay continuation for a maximum of 40 hours per calendar year, and 12 paid holidays throughout the calendar year that include both fixed and flexible holidays.
